Hi all

Last Tuesday sax player Tommaso Starace was our tutor.

He had us work on the  "Work Song" and "Jeannine" which were recorded by the great Cannonball Adderley.

Work Song is a bluesy type of tune.  And Tommaso had some of us play the first twelve bars of the melody rubato and then into swing for the remaining four bars to highlight interaction between the soloist and the rhythm section we then went on to solo over the changes.

We followed this with Jeannine which is fifty six bars in length with has a lot of 11 V7 changes to negotiate.

We worked on soloing on the first thirty two bars and as Tommaso is with us this coming Tuesday we will be doing the whole tune and he then wants to look at "Beatrice" by Sam Rivers.

So don't miss a wonderful opportunity to expand your knowledge.

See you Tuesday.

André
