Hi all,
This coming Tuesday we have keyboard player/band leader Terry Seabrook as our tutor.
Terry always brings great music to play as well as getting the members to play backings behind the soloists by singing the rhythms to the members to play is great practice.
Please come along as there are only three workshops left before the summer break from them when we have jam sessions on Tuesday evenings throughout August at the incredible fee of £4 per session.
Angele Veltmeijer took the workshop last Tuesday and we played two great tunes: Horace Silver's "Doodling" and that well known standard "Out Of Nowhere"
Doodlin is a 12 bar blues with lovely chords with a tricky melody line which has a number of turns in it. Angele suggested not to play the turn but just the main notes to simplify it so everyone was able to play it which was a success. Out of nowhere has several 11-V7-1 and is lovely to solo on.
So thanks to Angele for all her input.
See you Tuesday
