Hi All
Last Tuesday's workshop was taken by Terry Pack who is a very enthusiastic, talented musician and teacher.
He had the class learn a tune he had written which was closely based on the changes of (Autumn Leaves) by having us singing the chord root movement and then playing it on our instruments.
We went on to learn a large part of the melody in the same manner the emphasis was using ones ear, he then gave us the music to play from.
It was a very interesting and informative evening.
Terry is with us again this Tuesday so come and work off the extravagantness' of the bank holiday weekend.
100 SAXOPHONES RIDES AGAIN
This coming Sunday 31 May
100 Saxophones" was created by Simon D'souza as an exciting part of the Carnival Encounter weekend in May 2004. Last year in May 2014, we marked the 10th anniversary of this event with "100 Saxophones Rides Again", playing a variety of pop, ska and jazz tunes arranged by Simon, Beccy Rork and Mark Bassey, who collectively run the community saxophone workshop "Saxshop".
Sadly, Simon passed away days before the event after a long and brave journey through his illness.
The event raised over £3250 for the Brain Tumour Charity who are currently funding pioneering research and clinical trials. In memory of
Simon and to raise more money for this charity ~ 100 Saxophones Returns.

See you Tuesday.
