Hi all

Angele led another great workshop this week, albeit quite challenging.  First we worked on the tune "James" which apparently is named after singer/songwriter James Taylor.  Written by Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays, their superb recording sounds deceptively effortless, however, rapid chord changes throughout make it tricky to play well.  Later we played the song "My Foolish Heart" which was easier until Angele got us to transpose it up a 5th in real time.  This was a fiendish but useful exercise to stretch our abilities and better suit the vocal range of our singer.  At the Co-op we never stop learning and developing our musicianship!

This Tuesday our tutor is the amazing keyboard player Tom Phelan so come along and expand your knowledge.

And the way you are all learning so much you will have to be fitted with a musical gastric band.

See you Tuesday.

André
