Hi all

Last Tuesday Terry Seabrook was our tutor and he did a splendid job. He revisited a couple of tunes he did with us two weeks ago “Estate” and “Song for Bilbao”

We went onto look at called A Mont tune “Mysterioso”

The melody is built from the interval of a sixth which is really unusual and gives a very interesting melody line. Terry gave a good demonstration on how to negotiate it and encouraged us to use the sixth intervals to create interesting solos.

Next we looked “Cockle Row” a tune by the late Stan Tracey from his Under Milk Wood Suite.  A really nice swinger with a strong melody and interesting chord changes which was great to play.

This coming Tuesday our tutor is Angele and we will be looking at Sonny Rollins “Pent up House and There Will Never Be another you.

See you Tuesday.

André
