Hi All
Tuesday night we had a good turnout and we really enjoyed our second workshop with Mark Bassey.
He took us through two interesting tunes. One was “Eternal Triangle” which is based on rhythm changes but the bridge section was descending 11 V7 chords which got the old grey matter working.
The second tune was “Good Bye Pork Pie Hat” by Charles Mingus. The chord changes for the solos were different from those of the melody and were very challenging to play over.
But everyone rose to the occasion.
Keyboard player Tom Phelan is Our Tutor for the next two Tuesdays. Who is another of Brighton’s talented musicians?
So please come along and join us on Tuesday remember we start at 8.00pm
