My name is André and I have been given the privilege of taking over from Steve who has put a lot of time and effort into the Co-op and I'm sure we would all like to say a big thank you for all the work he has done on our behalf. He will still be appearing but recently moved to the mecca for old jazzers, no not New York, but Lancing!
Last Tuesday we had a great time with Julian Nicholas we played Misturada by Airto in 7/4 time and Strode Rode " Sonny Rollin". We did lots of playing with informative advice from Julian.
For the last two weeks this year we have bassist Nigel Thomas taking the class. He has worked regularly with many great players including Byron Wallen, Jim Mullen, Pete King, Don Weller, Toni Kofi, Dick Pearce, Ben Castle, Jon Toussaint, Renato D'Aiello, Anita Wardell, Bobby Wellins, Alan Barnes, Joe Lee Wilson, and Arnie Lawrence to name but a few.
PDF files for the tunes we are doing this coming Tuesday have been sent in a separate email. and I look forward to seeing you at the Verdict,159 Edward Street,BN2 OJB. I know it's tempting to sit by a blazing fire drinking hot cocoa and listening to the Archers but you could be missing the delights of all the things one can do with the pregnant 11th half whole flat diminished sharp scale!
