Hi All

We all had a most enjoyable time last Tuesday

With Nigel Thomas who took the workshop

We worked on Star Eyes and Nigel gave some

Great insight in how to approach playing it

Interpretation, dynamics, sound etc.

He will be back with us again on the 9 April.

This coming Tuesday we have Alto/clarinet

Player Jake Goss took the workshop in 2011.

Jake is a really great player so we can look forward to another informative evening.

You can hear Jake at this link.

Hi All

Last Tuesday we had a most enjoyable evening with

Ian Price who was very entertaining and gave some hints

On how to approach chord changes. Ian was going to be

With us this coming Tuesday but he has a recording

Session but will be back later in the year.

So this Tuesday I am pleased to say we have bassist

Nigel Thomas who is a very fine musician and probably

Known to many of you.

Music charts will follow shortly.

Looking forward to seeing you.

André

Hi All

Nice to see the change in the weather so we should be able to meet this Tuesday 19 March.

We are delighted to have Sax/Flute Clarinettist Ian Price as our Tutor.
His angle is the passion of playing.

Please be ready to start at 8.00

See you Tuesday.

André

Hope to see you next Tuesday. And anyway you will have more time to practice.

Co-op admin

Hi All

Just a reminder that Sax player Ian Price is our Tutor this coming Tuesday, and in Ian's words

The tunes won't be difficult.

My angle on this is 'passion'.

We all play jazz, because we're passionate about it....?                       I certainly am!

We'll look at the stuff that we need to - the pulse, the changes, blah...

Above all, we'll play!!

I will send out the charts as soon as I receive them from Ian.

Look forward to seeing you Tuesday.

André

Last Tuesday evening we had a Jam and we had a lot of fun playing together.  We played some tunes we had done previously and some new ones.

We have the jam sessions every now and again for several reasons one is some people like to come and play tunes others are interested in learning.  So we try to cater for different people's interest.

And lastly on the jam nights we are able to replenish the coffers as we have very lucky to have extremely good tutors and they deserve to be paid a professional fee.

The entry fee to the workshops and jams is very reasonable and extremely good value so your support is very important to the life of the co-op.

See you Tuesday.

André
