Subject: Jazz Summer School 2009
Hi Everyone,
I hope this finds you all well. Just a quick update on things. The
numbers are looking really good for the Summer School this year and it
looks like we'll have a good mix of experienced and less experienced
players. I've found in the past that this works really well.
I'm formulating the content of the Summer School as we speak, it will
be based around a similar methodology to last year's event and I will
be compiling another booklet and pad of charts which will be
distributed to you in plenty of time. I am open for ideas if people
have specifics they want to work on. I'm sure I'll be able to weave
them into the existing course outline. I maintain though that I want
the emphasis to be on playing rather than loads of theory. I will
however be running theory classes for those who wish to attend.
Depending on numbers there may well be another tutor involved. I'm in
talks at the moment with who that might be but rest assured it will be
someone very well established as a musician and teacher.
For those who have already put down to attend – please forward the
payment of £119 to me ASAP to secure your place. Cheques payable to
W. McConnell and sent to the address below. Bank Transfers can also
be made on request, email me for the details.
Really looking forward to it, please get the word out as much as
possible for attendee's there are spaces left. Don't hesitate to give
out my contact details to anyone who you think will be interested.
I'm off to New York between June 11th and 23rd so I'll be out of phone
reach but I'll still check emails daily.
