Co-opistas
attached are the the parts for Tuesday that Nigel Thomas will be
working on. As always you can check out what they sound like for the
right side of your brain on youtube or the various streaming radio
sites.
This year is going to be a big one for the Co-op. We have the regular
Saturday lunchtime residency at the Dome Foyer which was kicked off by
a stonking Co-op band yesterday. We have bands booked through to March
at the moment so take a break from your shopping and enjoy a coffee
while listening to some good jazz. If anyone wants to sit in just for
one or two numbers then let me know and it can be arranged. This is a
great opportunity to develop gigging skills in front of an audience.
We are also looking at running a day workshop over the Easter break at
the Dome. This is likely to be focussing on jazz rock but if you have
a burning desire for a particular type of workshop let us know and it
will be considered.
We will also be going to the Swanage Jazz Festival. For most this will
be a camping trip keeping the costs down. There is an excellent camp
site with a train station around the corner that has a steam train
that takes you right into the centre of Swanage. It is on the 8,9,10
July and Alan Barnes is one of the directors. You can buy a weekend
ticket which is cheaper before the end of May. Tickets do sell out so
if you want to go don't leave it too late. More info is on their
website
