Hi Angele
The sheet you sent for Everywhere has three parts all in the same key
although the key signatures are different - if that makes sense. I think the
Eb and Bb parts need transposing.

Find Angele's tunes attached for Tuesday. What better way to spend
Valentines day than plying latin jazz?! What's the difference between
salsa, bossa and tango? Will a drummer know the answer? Can a non
latin play a latin bass line? So many questions. See you Tuesday.
From Angele
I thought we'd start with the bossa.
Attached the tunes.
As it will be valentine's day we'll briefly visit 'my funny valentine' as a
bossa.
See you Tuesday for 8,
angèle

Fwd: Next Jazz Jam at the Alibi, Hove
we're pleased to say they all got the opportunity to perform. Our next
jam is 8.30pm, Thursday 16th February, at the Alibi Pub in Hove (on
Kingsway, next to the Texaco and just along from the King Alfred
Leisure Centre), and I'd be grateful if you could post this on the
Co-Op blog for us. Everyone is welcome and, numbers permitting, we aim
to give everyone a go whilst maintaining a good balance between open
mic and jam (you can read about the last session on our blog at
www.jazzjamsessions.wordpress.com). Vocal amp/mic, keyboard and drum
kit are available, bring charts if possible for the less commonly
heard songs to help keep the evening moving.
Cheers,
Darryl

Hi all
Just lost the sax player and drummer from my band. Moving on to other
projects etc.....
If you know any good players with a feel for funkier jazz as well as
swing and who might be looking to join a band can you let me know?
Or people who are good at learning songs quickly and are happy to join
just for gig dates (with maybe 2 or 3 rehearsals leading up to the
gig).
The rest of us are keyboards guitar bass and singer.
We try to do more rhythmic/funk instrumentals (eg Red Baron - Billy
Cobham), and songs ranging from blues, standards, through to soul.
We have a Brunswick date in June if we can get the band re-started !
Thnx
Terry

Hi Patrick,
Just wanted to let you know that my new jazz and blues bar is now
open, its called Brighton Blue Note, under the Greenhouse Effect in
Hove and is open from Thursday through to Sunday 7pm-2am. Full
listings can be found at www.brightonbluenote.com. We've got some
great acts booked with a jazz jam every Friday.
The venue is closed during the day and Monday to Wednesday evenings
but would make a great rehearsal space so do get in touch if you think
that might be useful. The main benefit being that it's a bar so
there's plenty of booze available! We've also got a pretty good sound
system and a piano {its a bit honky-tonk right now but its being tuned
this coming week}.
Would you kindly forward this message to anyone who might be
interested? The first couple of months are going to be tough so I
would very much appreciate any help and support.
Kind regards,
Doug Ellingford. - 0781 405 2247

Julian Nicholas for Tuesdays workshop
Last week we repeated a pentatonic phrase a semitone away. Sounded
great. Brave the cold to catch a cool tutor.
