The mission of the Brighton Jazz Coop is to organise a regular programme of educational jazz improvisation workshops in Brighton, Sussex, UK
Julian Nicholas @ the jazz Club this Friday
just a reminder that one of our favourite tutors leads the band at the Jazz Club at the Komedia on Friday. He has the great Chris Batchelor (Loose Tubes) with him on trumpet with a tribute to Harry Beckett who died recently. Julian always gets a good Co-op turnout and has always delivered a fabulous gig. Hope to see you there. Highly recommended.

Fwd: Sussex Jazz Orchestra Gig
The Sussex Jazz Orchestra Sunday 28th November, 4 - 6 p.m. The Branch Tavern, London Road, (not far from Preston Circus) Admission Free. I suggest walking, or coming by public transport, so that everyone can buy lots of drinks, impressing the pub management with the band's ability to boost revenue. All the best, Patrick. |

Tuesday workshop - blues minor
Soweto Kinch got good reviews from those of you who went. Thanks to Pippa and the Dome for the tickets. Roy Hilton will be taking the workshop on Tuesday. Tuesdays BJMC Workshop
Wayne McConnell will be taking the workshop on for the next two weeks. Wayne teaches on the Chichester course. Apologies for those of you that turned up at the Open House last week to find it closed! We weren't told. We are assured by the management that are usually very good to us that all will be well this coming Tuesday. Another disappointment is that we were not able to pull a band together for the Dome today but again we will have it sorted for next week.
Tonight the amazing Gwylim Simcock is at the Komedia. The London Jazz festival started yesterday and Emma Thompson and I went to see Chris Potter at Ronnie Scott's. We were sat at different tables though. Chris Potter was totally fantastic.

Dear Jazz Friends,
'The falling leaves drift by my window, the autumn leaves of red and gold'
For a very short period of time we have the truly beautiful sight of wonderful autumn colours. And then come the long dark winter nights – a great time to look forward to and start planning for lots more jazz. So below is a reminder of what lies ahead.
Need ideas for Christmas gifts/wish list? Why not give or ask for MEhr Clef gift vouchers which can be redeemed for any of our courses. Check out http://www.mehrclef.com/11.html for details.
Best wishes and keep swinging!
