Workshop Tonight

Co-opistas

Tim, Sweet Tone Bolwell will be leading the session tonight and will bring music for it. This Friday also sees the start of the Jazz Cub Autumn season starting with the Soft Machine Legacy. This later incarnation which includes none of the original members carried on the British tradition of jazz rock so is of interest to those aging hippies that came to jazz from the blues based rock of the 60's. You know who you are!

See you there.

Tuesdays BJMC Workshop

We are having a jam session this Tuesday at the loverly Open House led by Tim, Sweets, Bollwell. £2 for a night of improvisation with some hot advice from Tim. Just the way to finish August with a bang. Bring any charts and real books with you.

See you there.

Tuesdays jam

This tuesday we will gqhve a jam session again at the Open House. Bring any real books you have. We will be doing some of the usual favorites plus the blues for the week which is Stolen Moments and that fantastic Ellington tune In A Sentimental Mood. Check out Micheal Brecker's version for a modenr take on it.

Brecon Jazz Festival was interesting. If anyone is thinking of going next year don't camp at the Rugby Club. I shall write up some of the gigs on myh jazzrock blog.

Tuesdays BJMC Workshop

Co-opistas

Tuesday will be a jam session as will all sessions over August. I'll lead the session this week and will send out tunes tomorrow which you will need to print and bring unless you already have them in a real book. I will get us warmed up on a couple of tunes in the usual fashion, probably Equinox and Autumn Leaves. We will then have a couple of horns playing with the rhythm section as if for a gig. It is a great chance to extend your improvisation a bit in a safe environment. If you have tunes you want to bring let me know and I can check that the rhythm section have parts, unless you want to bring enough.
