Tim Bolwell Session

Tim led a really good session that looked at a number of aspects of playing but focussed on concentration. We did a few exercises where we had to hold on to up to three ideas at a time. The session was based on a book which is highly recommended by players like Keith Jarrett. What is it called Tim?

Our very own and very lovely Tim Bolwell is going to be leading us into impro heaven on Tuesday. Prior to the May fest when we have to vacate the "House" Tim will finish our trumpeter led sessions for two weeks. Hope to see you there.

BJC gig alert

A heads up for those that have not already realised that the line up at the jazz club this Friday is awesome. The three line horn section includes one of my all time favourite sax players, possibly second only to Michael Brecker, Nigel Hitchock. Nigel now lives, rather inconsiderately, in Scotland so getting the chance to see him down hear is a rare treat. The rhythm section is top notch as well so if this gig is not triple sold out then life is a crime. See you there.

A reminder that Steve Waterman will be running the sessions for the next two weeks. Steve was enormously popular last time he came down from north Kent to teach. He also teaches on the jazz degree course at Trinity and is one of the long standing tutors on the MEHR Cleff summer school. Satissfaction guaranteed.
